What is Town Crush?
Town Crush is a Town Star-themed match-three puzzle game, created by the Gala Games team and designed as the first provable use case for their proprietary blockchain, Project GYRI.
The test version of the game has been released and the members of the Gala Games community will have access to this fully playable test for a limited time, allowing them to witness the power of Project GYRI and play to earn TEST, a test token that cannot be transferred or sold.
How Town Crush Works
Town Crush is a blatant rip-off of Candy Crush. Your goal is to score as many points as possible by combining three items of the same category. The items are Town Star aspects such as crops, fruits, and even unique equipment and buildings.
The game is divided into levels, and the developers didn’t specify how many levels there are. However, you can monitor all moves in the Gala Chain through the block explorer, so you might be able to find out by doing a little digging.
Town Crush makes use of an actual, on-chain token called “TEST.” The token cannot be traded or exchanged, is not listed on any decentralized exchange, and has no monetary value. You will be asked to accept holding it in your Gala Wallet, but that is all there is to it.
Once you’re in the game, you’ll earn TEST by finishing levels, which you can use to buy new lives or “bombs” to help you wipe out the goals faster.
Gala Games has already said that this is not a polished title that they would normally release, and that it is merely a test for their future Gala Chain. It is intended to do more actions on the chain than necessary in order to stress it as much as feasible.
The main goal of the game is to uncover all flaws in the chain before it is released to the public. Finding bugs is encouraged, but not rewarded. This is an interesting option because a bug bounty payment system may have brought in talented QA testers.
“Gala Chain” is a dictionary name. The Gala Games team didn’t confirm the name of the blockchain, and right now it’s actually called Project GYRI.
Gameplay
Town Crush is a browser-based game, so you don’t need to download anything to play it. You can begin playing right away in your browser window.
Complete as many stages as you can to earn extra points. As you complete the levels, you will be rewarded with stars in addition to points. The stars will then be used to purchase additional lives in the game. If you want a rapid advantage in the game, you can also buy Chicken bombs for stars.
The game is similar to Candy Crush. You must match three identical colors. If you try to create a switch and it doesn’t match the color, your switch will be reversed. You can only make a switch if it’s a three-color match.
To complete a level, you’d only be given a limited number of switches you can make, so try to make switches that enable combo or start chain reactions to complete a level before the switches run out.
To play the game, you’ll first need a Gala Games account. Everyone can register, and the process is completely free.
By opening an account, you enter the Gala ecosystem, and you can play their other games or sign up for the waitlist. At the moment, they only have Town Star live, the other games are yet to be released.

The TEST Token
Currently existing on the Project GYRI Blockchain, Gala Games is testing a new token called TEST.
Here’s what you need to know about this TEST token.
When you play the game, you will be given some TEST tokens to spend in the game. All the transactions within the game will be made through this token. If all goes well, TEST tokens will be implemented in the Project GYRI blockchain in the future. (This is not confirmed, though)
Although TEST is a real token on the Project GYRI Blockchain, it doesn’t have real value. Also, it’s not transferable as well. Its sole purpose is to test the new blockchain.
How to Earn Money on Town Crush
By playing Town Crush—and therefore helping Gala Games find bugs and fix issues—you can earn the on-chain TEST token. You can spend these TEST tokens on lives and bombs that allow you to complete levels faster, but you cannot transfer or sell them.
